The National Stem Cell foundation of Australia was established in mid-2011 as the follow-on organisation from the Australian Stem Cell Centre.
Its mission is to promote the study and use of stem cells in the prevention or control of disease in human beings and to enhance public education in this field. The website needed to reflect their new identity, enable online donations, and complement their suite of public education material.
An ongoing challenge with biotechnology clients is reflecting the serious nature of their research, while also providing an easy to use interface which will speak to the general public.
The website offers detailed information for patients, caretakers, teachers, and students. This information also needs to sit side by side with research grant material. The resulting design successfully combined all elements of their brand, and was also delivered under tight budget constraints and timelines.
The National Stem Cell Foundation website ended up being awarded the Sitefinity site of the year in the Best Healthcare Website category. Websilk was especially proud to assist this charitable organisation reach larger target audiences.
